Layer by layer, a soft darkness unfolds.
A series of transparent circles, each slightly smaller than the one before, forms a visual tunnel; a fragile opening into the unknown. The work seems to absorb light and reflect it at the same time, like a silent window in which time slows down.
Into the Soft Unknown explores the act of seeing; and what is revealed when that seeing is slowed. The work is both object and instrument of perception, mirror and veil, composed of glass and semi-transparent silver foil. The concentric layers invite reflection, both literal and metaphorical: what begins at the surface deepens into layers that draw further inward.
In its materiality and layered construction, the work echoes questions of inwardness and distance, of what is visible and what remains concealed. It acts as a portal; not to another world, but to another way of perceiving.
