Light seeking depth, on the threshold between rising and sinking; a silence full of direction.
Contradiction submerges runway lights, typically symbols of arrival and orientation; into the dark waters of Amsterdam’s Marineterrein. In this historic harbor, once a site for shipbuilding and the view of a young Van Gogh, a new landscape of light and reflection emerges.
The work balances function and poetry: industrial precision is quietly undone by the mystery of depth.
Developed in collaboration with engineer and companion Pieter van Dijk (Lemon Man, formerly Studio Drift), created in honor of the Marineterrein Amsterdam’s anniversary.
